Residents in Fear of Dioxin Ask to Move

A group of Michigan residents are asking the government to relocate them because of fears concerning dioxin contamination from a nearby river. The dioxin has been traced to a Dow Chemical plant upriver from the residents which released the chemical from 1900 to 1970. Tests have revealed that dioxin levels near some homes are more than ten times the levels allowed by the state. Tina Lam, Detroit Free Press 12/09/2007
