Raw Peppers Linked to Salmonella Outbreak
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned at risk populations to avoid consuming raw jalapeno and serrano peppers. This comes after months have been spent investigating tomatoes as the possible culprit in the salmonella outbreak that has affected more than 1,000 people since April. The outbreak, reportedly the worst in ten years, has been centered in Texas with 384 reported cases. Cases have also been reported in 41 states and Canada. Allan Turner, Houston Chronicle 07/10/2008
