Doctor who stopped to help teenagers in car accident dies
DETROIT (AP) — A Detroit doctor who stopped to help passengers in an overturned car and was struck by a vehicle has died.
Forty-seven-year-old Cynthia Ray succumbed to her injuries Wednesday after she was hit on Sunday, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Two killed after car crashes into fallen tree on M-66
EAST LEROY, MI (WTVB) – Two people were killed early Friday morning after three vehicles crashed into a tree that fell across both lanes of M-66 south of Battle Creek.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Post at Marshall were dispatched to a single vehicle personal injury accident at about 3:45 a.m. The driver of the vehicle had struck the fallen tree and had suffered minor injuries.

Worker dies after trapped under steel fixture at Lapeer plant
LAPEER, MI — A 47-year-old man died Friday, April 7 after he became trapped underneath a steel fixture inside a Lapeer plant.
Lapeer police and fire were called out shortly after 11 a.m. April 7 to Lapeer Industries Inc., 3140 John Conley Drive, for an entrapment of a worker and found the man seriously injured.

The police department identified the dead as 13-year-old Bryan Douglas Watts. Eight other children, on the other hand, were transported to South Bend, Indiana’s Memorial Hospital, with three already released by Saturday evening and the remaining ones reported to be fine by Sunday noon. The five kids found unconscious alongside the pool range from 12 to 14 in age, police added.

MSP to crack down on distracted drivers this week
(4/04/2017) – April is national Distracted Driving Awareness Month so there will be extra patrols on the roads Thursday through Monday looking to ticket drivers who don’t have their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.
“They were texting and talking at the same time I could tell because she had her eyes down I thought please don’t hit me,” Gloria Hamilton of Flint Township said.
