Canton man, woman injured in separate accidents
Canton Police are investigating a pair of Monday evening accidents they say left a 32-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman hospitalized, both in critical condition. The first accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, when police were called to the scene of the first accident on westbound Michigan Avenue, near I-275.
Passenger in Wrong-Way Crash Passes Away
The passenger in the car that collided head-on with a delivery van early last Thursday has died. 22-year-old Jessi Christyne Nunn of Texas was riding in the car that was heading south on 127 North when it hit the van. CALEDONIA, Mich. (WZZM) — A Kent County Road Commission employee was killed Monday morning in a work-related accident. The accident happened just after 8 a.m. at a construction side near Alaska Avenue and Thornapple Dales Drive SE.
Man could face charges in fatal crash on M-52
LOCKE TOWNSHIP – A Wayne County man could face charges in connection with a head-on collision Tuesday morning on M-52 that killed another driver, Michigan State Police said. Anthony Sandford, 31, was driving his 2003 Ford pickup northbound on M-52 near Perry when he attempted to pass the driver in front of him and collided with a southbound 2001 Saturn sedan driven by Gary Alexander, 54, police said.
Tony Stewart will not be charged
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Prosecutors announced Wednesday that a grand jury had decided against bringing criminal charges against three-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart in the August death of a driver at a sprint car race in upstate New York. Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo said the victim, Kevin Ward Jr., was under the influence of marijuana the night of the accident “enough to impair judgment.” Tantillo said two videos examined by investigators showed “no aberrational driving by Tony Stewart.”
Man hit, killed by train while walking in Davison Friday night
DAVISON, MI — A Davison Township man was killed Friday night in Davison when he was hit by a train on State Road while walking. Sheriff: Michigan Man Dies After Lawnmower Crash
CORUNNA, Mich. (AP) – Shiawassee County authorities say a 68-year-old man has died after crashing his pickup truck into a riding lawnmower. The county sheriff’s office confirmed Tuesday that Jessie Cecil of Lennon died Monday from injuries he suffered in the accident. Authorities say Cecil was driving on a road in Venice Township when he struck the riding mower Sunday. Boyfriend of woman killed by chunk of gargoyle sues church
A wrongful death lawsuit was filed Monday on behalf of a woman who was killed when a piece of a stone gargoyle fell from the facade of a South Loop church. Sarah Bean, 34, a mother of two, died Thursday after the decorative stone piece hit her outside Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago, 1936 S.
