Woman Critically Injured in S. Dixie Hwy, Crash
LaSALLE — S. Dixie Hwy. at S. Otter Creek Rd. will remain closed until the early evening as sheriff’s deputies continue the investigation of a two-vehicle accident that critically injured a woman.
Life Flight helicopter transported the victim to a Toledo hospital. Witnesses said she was unconscious while trapped in the vehicle, which came to rest in a wooded area off S. Dixie about 100 feet from impact. But officials said the woman was still alive when she was placed into the helicopter.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Quinn reported early investigation shows the woman driving a Mercury Mariner was eastbound on S. Otter Creek and apparently stopped before she pulled out into the intersection. The Mariner then collided with a Ford F-350 pickup truck that was southbound. The man in the pickup appeared okay, witnesses said.
Oakland County Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Involving Teen Driver
WHITE LAKE (WWJ) – A motorcyclist is dead after he was hit by a car in Oakland County.
According to police, the biker was traveling on Highland Road, M-59, near Fisk Road late Monday night when a teenage driver pulled out in front of him and stopped.
2 killed, 2 injured after collision in Wexford County
WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)–Two people were killed and two people were injured after a collision in Wexford County.
It happened around 5:35 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of North 9 Road and West County Line Road in Wexford Township.
According to the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, investigation shows that a northbound vehicle, driven by 59-year-old Janice Verkerke from Middleville, failed to stop at a stop sign. As her vehicle traveled into the intersection, it was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a Benzonia man.
Pilot escapes serious injury in Michigan crash
Jasper Township — Authorities say a 79-year-old pilot escaped serious injury after crashing while attempting to land at a grass landing strip in Michigan.
The Midland County sheriff’s office says Ronald Lee Schultz was flying alone in his single-engine plane on Tuesday when the landing gear struck corn that was growing in a field near the landing strip, causing the plane to hit the ground. The plane landed and flipped.

Boat passenger suffers severe head injury after accident
GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, MI — A 45-year-old Hudsonville resident is in critical condition after suffering a severe head injury when she was riding on a boat Saturday morning.
The accident happened at about 10:30 a.m. on July 22 when a 35-foot Sabre Marine power boat was traveling at high speeds, according to Ottawa County Sheriff deputies. The vessel was on Lake Michigan near Grand Haven when it hit a wave and jerked hard to the side, causing two passengers to hit the dashboard area.
Motorcyclist injured in collision at Michigan Avenue and Seneca Street
A motorcyclist suffered non-life threatening injury happened Friday night when he collided with a vehicle on Michigan Avenue.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling north on Michigan near Seneca Street about 9:30 p.m. while another vehicle was apparently traveling south and attempting to make a turn when the two vehicles collided.
The 27-year-old operator of the motorcycle was transported to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A 64-year-old Davison man and his 58-year-old wife are dead after their motorcycle struck a van which ran through a stop sign Monday evening, July 17, at the intersection of Irish and Millington roads in Tuscola County, police said.
One dead after two-vehicle crash in Vienna Township
VIENNA TWP, MI — One person has died following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Vienna Township, police said.
Deputies with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and Clio firefighters responded around 4:30 p.m. July 19 to Lake and Tuscola roads for a rollover accident and discovered a maroon van and Chevy pickup truck had collided.
