Cruise Ship Restrooms Linked to Illnesses
According to a study conducted by researchers writing for Clinical Infectious Diseases, most restrooms aboard ships are not being properly cleaned or sanitized on a regular basis. The study, spanning a 3-year period, looked at 19 outbreaks of intestinal illnesses and found a correlation between ships with lower scores of cleanliness in restrooms and a higher incidence of illnesses among passengers and crew.
