Michigan’s 53 most crash-prone highway stretches on icy/snowy roads
What are the most crash-prone sections of highway in Michigan’s winter weather?
MLive analyzed a decade of crash data from the state’s Office of Highway Safety Planning, looking specifically at accidents on snowy and/or icy roads on Michigan’s interstates and U.S. routes 131, 127, 23 and 31.
The analysis looked at the data for each 10-mile stretch of highway to see which sections were the most accident-prone, based on percentage of crashes that occurred on snowy and/or icy roads.
